Innovation

  • The Jackbox Party Pack 9 is fully localized in French, Italian, German, and Spanish.
  • The ability to kick players from the lobby or the game you are playing is coming to The Jackbox Party Pack 9. By going to mod.jackbox.tv and entering the game’s room code, someone in a moderator role has the ability to screen user-generated content before it ever appears. The kicking players feature will act as an extension of mod.jackbox.tv.
  • Two new functions were added to the settings:
    • QR Code Sign-In: Using your mobile device, you can hold your camera up to the QR code on the screen and it will automatically pull up Jackbox.tv and have that room code entered for you.
    • Easy Host Reconnects: If the game host loses their connection to the server mid-game, it won’t automatically be destroyed. The game will essentially “pause” for 5 minutes and give the host time to reestablish a connection. Game data or players will not be lost so you can finish your round!

Also, Elise Wattman, known as the composer of Weapons Drawn, wrote music for Junktopia, she used a banjo, mandolin and guitar to recorded all these instruments live, the rest she played on a virtual instrument. Trivia

  • This is the first mainline Party Pack in which the game was be officially translated into French, Italian, German, and Spanish (Spain and Latin America).
    • But considering spin-offs, The Jackbox Party Starter beats it out, which it was originally planned to translate already created games.
    • However, there are files in Weapons Drawn that imply that The Jackbox Party Pack 8 was originally going to be translated into multiple languages first, but for whatever reason: it was scrapped.
  • This is the first Jackbox Party Pack in which all five games are family-friendly.
