Nonsensory is the third game to be announced for The Jackbox Party Pack 9, revealed on June 13th, 2022. Nonsensory is about writing and drawing prompts and rating said prompts based off of a given question from a 1 to 10 scale, hoping to test levels of NSP (Nonsensory Perception). Players are rewarded points by how close their response was to the correct answer.

Gameplay

Tutorial

If the VIP chooses to take a pregame exercise, they are asked to name something that matches their prompt's secret number. The other players guess between 1 and 10, and the answer is revealed after everyone guesses.

Round 1- Writing

During Round 1, players will write something like a text or a name of something. During the prompt-writing, Audience players will vote on what card matches a particular question. The more players who match, the more points the Audience gets.

The players vote as before, swapping between prompts as players guess. Players get points the closer to the answer they were. The writer gets points if players guessed the secret number, or the numbers adjactent to it. (If 6, the numbers 5 and 7 will award points too!)

Round 2- Drawing

During Round 2, players will draw something based on the prompt given, like a bug or a tree. Just like Round 1, the Audience will perform sync-ups with cards.

Players vote like before, but at any time (even during Round 1) players can tap and hold the CONFIDENCE button to apply Confidence to your answer. Confident players will get a 1000-point bonus if they land on or next to the secret number. However, they lose 500 points if they do not land in that range!

Round 3- Final

During Round 3, the points are doubled! Players are asked to draw something between two points (like DRAGON and SOFA) and the numberings have changed to be 60-100% Point A and 60-100% Point B.

Players vote one last time, and the winner is decided by who has the most points at the end.

The Audience will also be rewarded an Audience Rank depending on how many points they get.

Trivia

• If the game has less than five players, there will be four rounds instead of three.
• Outside of each test room there is a sign which reads:

  "SAFETY FIRST"
  "[NUMBER] TESTS"
  "Without a "Fart" incident"

• This sign is a live tally of how many tests the host has completed without a player using "fart" in their answer. This counter resets back to 0 if at least one player used the word "fart" in their answer in a round.
• The credit theme makes a direct reference to non-fungible tokens, a digital identifier that mints images onto the blockchain. This process makes any illustrations minted unique, and cannot be copied, substituted, or subdivided. These are worth Ethereum, a type of cryptocurrency, which can be subsequently used as currency-currency.
  • More specifically, it refers to the Board Ape Yacht Club NFT, one of the most recognizable and popular series of non-fungible tokens.
