Job Job is the first game to be announced for The Jackbox Party Pack 8, having been announced on April 29, 2021.

Players who have entered the game become each other's colleagues who have applied for this employment opportunity. But there is only one job. Therefore, M. Bubbles, the manager, has developed a revolutionary new hiring process in which they will interrogate everyone at once and force them to judge each other.

Gameplay[]

In the first round, called "icebreaker", you will be asked questions, your job is to answer these as simply as possible with at least 5 words present.

After the "icebreaker" round comes the "interview" round, where difficult interview questions are asked. But instead of typing their answers, players should use the words of fellow interviewers to answer questions. On your device, click on any word to add it to your answer.

  • If you regret what you picked, click on the word again to delete it.
  • If you don't like where you placed it, you can also hold down the words to rearrange them.
  • Feeling stuck? Then you can click on "shuffle" or "sort" to get new inspiration, or "start for me" to let the game pick out free random words to get you started.

This repeats for the second round, however this time players need to answer two hypothetical questions about office life. In the final round, you need to write a last personal statement about yourself, for example:

I am <simply present. to job>
My goal <is to hold regret round office>

Audience Integration[]

Audience members are the "board of directors" and will vote for answers during the interviews. During the writing process, they will be able to make motivational posters that will show up in the background.

Theme Song[]

Life is short but the days are long

Never thought you’d be feeling so blue
Stuck at home with the TV on
Wanting something important to do
Somewhere where you can be the you that you know you can be
Somewhere where snacks are free, and friends break for coffee at three
If you’ve got a bachelor’s degree…

You need a job job
Go get a job job
You need a job job
Everyone job job
Get you a job job
You need a job job, it’s true
Well have I got a job job for you…

We’ve got perks like a dental plan
And once a week it’s okay to wear jeans
Plastics go in the recycling can
Don’t monopolize the copy machine
You’ve got vacation days, but why would you want time away?
When you do what you love, why not do it every day?
That’s why our employees say...

Come get a job job
You need a job job
Talkin’ 'bout a job job
Everyone jobby job
Get you a job job
How 'bout a job job
Who wants a job job
You need-oh yes you really need--

We swear you will see
Job prosperity
If you give to we
Productivity

Job job
Go get a job job
You need a job job
Everyone job job
Get you a job job
You need a job job, it’s true
Well have I got a job job for you…

Trivia[]

  • Every character icon references a key aspect of Jackbox Games' library. Every icon also has a unique voting SFX based off of the game they reference.
  • In one of the possible animations when writing icebreakers, M. Bubbles finds a sentient stapler inside a serving of jelly, a likely reference to The Office, where Jim pranks Dwight by doing the same thing, only with a regular, non-sentient stapler.
  • The fonts used are ClickClackv4, ClickClackHighlightv10, Bourton Handv2, Bourton Phatv2, Foundation Sans Roman, KG Corner of the Sky, WinthorpeScSb-Regular & Museo 700 Italic.
  • Before settling on the suitcase with eyes, Jackbox Games had considered may other potential logos for the game, including newspaper clippings, folders, and even some with hands and markers![↑]
