Dodo Re Mi is the fifth and final game announced for The Jackbox Party Pack 10, as well as the first rhythm game in the Jackbox Party Packs. It was announced on August 1st, 2023.
Synchronization[]
The first and foremost problem with creating a rhythm game that could potentially be played along to a livestream over the Internet is syncing the timing. The game solves that issue by asking the players to tap the screen three times along to the in-game prompt ("4, 3, 2, 1, tap tap tap!"). Not only is the synchronization used to score the performance, it is also used to assemble the resulting performance for playback.
The synchronization process is also robust enough to accommodate pausing during gameplay. If a player pauses the game, the re-sync process triggers upon resumption to ensure all players are aligned once again.
Gameplay[]
Dodo Re Mi allows the players to tap along to the given charts in order to perform the music themselves. The songs are broken down into multiple parts, each representing a diverse range of instruments. Unlike most rhythm games where players' inputs have little to no effect on the resulting music, Dodo Re Mi allows the players to listen back to their own performance after gameplay, similar to Wii Music. This mechanic of cutting up each part into notes is also used in games like Beatmania IIDX, though those games provide real-time audio feedback.
During gameplay, the host game plays the original music track as a reference. Each player's device emits real-time audio of their chosen instrument, allowing for a live ensemble performance. Each part may have anywhere from just 1 to 6 vertically scrolling lanes, with circular notes falling down from above. Players are tasked to tap the corresponding circle at the bottom of the screen, or alternatively press a key on the keyboard or a button on the gamepad.
Parts marked with a ∞ sign are continuous, where the player is tasked to tap the exact position on the horizontal slide bar, and slide left and right on long notes, similarly to Trombone Champ. These parts may only be played with a pointing device like a touchscreen or mouse.
After each song, the performance is played back, where the ratings of each note are shown by the color of the notes on screen that come out of the beaks of the birds. The combo of each player is shown as a fire icon next to their bird, the player(s) with the longest combo being highlighted by the tentacle that the bird is perched on.
The accuracy is rated out of 5 flowers, where passing the 5th one allows the players to “Survive” and avoid being eaten by the carnivorous plant that listens to the performance. After that, the players may get a higher rating, going “bronze”, “silver”, and “gold”.
A game session may last any number of songs in a row. Players may join in at any time to fill a vacant slot, but they may not leave until the session is ended by the host. After the game session has been ended, players are given the option to download MP3 files generated from the players' performance.

Streaming[]
Streaming Dodo Re Mi offers a seamless experience for both players and audiences. The game supports an audience mode, allowing up to 10,000 viewers to participate by selecting an instrument and beatmap. Just like players, the audience members contribute to the musical performance, but their input doesn't impact the final synchronized version.
The game offers features such as Passworded Rooms, Max Players, Require Twitch Login, and Player Name Filtering, making it a secure and customizable option for streamers seeking control over who joins their game. To optimize streaming quality, maintaining a stream latency of 10 seconds or less is recommended, ensuring that every note from every player contributes to the song.

- There's also a unused instrument "Potty Mouth".
- It’s also the one instance in the entire game where the “Tutorial Sampler” appears outside of the Tutorial song.
- During the Pack 10 Demo (September 27th) to November 19th, the scarab picture was seen after people downloaded the song they played.
- After November 19th , it's was removed for unknown reasons.
- The song "Bingo" was a update to YDKJ Vol 4: The Ride's Bingo ost.
